Question 14

Can you fit a kitchen while I am still living in the house?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the vast majority of our customers remain in their homes throughout the installation. We work tidily, protect surrounding areas with dust sheets and ensure you have access to water and basic facilities at the end of each working day wherever possible.

Question 15

Do you fit kitchen splashbacks and tiles?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We supply and fit ceramic, porcelain and glass splashbacks as well as full-height tiled walls. Our tiler works alongside the kitchen fitter so everything is completed in one continuous project.

Question 16

How much does a new bathroom cost?

Accepted Answer

A standard bathroom refit in Bolton or Manchester — replacing the bath, toilet, basin and shower with new tiling throughout — typically costs between £3,000 and £6,000 for labour and materials. A luxury wet room with bespoke tiling and underfloor heating can reach £10,000 or more. We offer free, no-obligation quotes.

Question 17

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

Accepted Answer

A standard bathroom remodel typically takes 5–7 working days. Simpler updates such as replacing a shower enclosure can be done in 1–2 days. Full overhauls involving structural changes or moving plumbing can take 2–3 weeks.

Question 18

Do you handle bathroom electrics?

Accepted Answer

Question 19

What is the best flooring for a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

We recommend LVT (luxury vinyl tile) for most bathrooms — it is fully waterproof, warm underfoot and available in a huge range of wood and stone effects. Sheet vinyl is another excellent option: completely waterproof with no grout lines to harbour mould. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are also popular for their durability.

Question 20

Do you offer wet room installations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We design and install fully tanked wet rooms with linear drains, large-format tiling and thermostatic shower systems. All wet room installations include full waterproofing and tanking to prevent water ingress.

Yes. Full strip-out and disposal of your existing bathroom suite, tiles and flooring is included as standard. We protect your home throughout and remove all waste from site at no extra charge.

Question 25

Can you fit underfloor heating in a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We install electric underfloor heating mats beneath tiles as part of a bathroom renovation. Our qualified electrician connects and tests the system and provides the necessary certification. It is a popular upgrade that adds comfort and helps dry the floor quickly.

Question 26

Do you fit walk-in showers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Walk-in showers are one of our most requested installations. We fit frameless glass panels, linear drains, thermostatic shower valves and large-format tiles to create a sleek, modern finish. We can also convert an existing bath space into a walk-in shower.

Question 27

Can you convert a bath into a shower?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Bath-to-shower conversions are a popular choice, particularly for older customers or those with limited mobility. We remove the bath, waterproof and tile the area, fit a shower tray or wet-room floor, and install a new shower enclosure and valve.

Question 28

Do you fit disabled or accessible bathrooms?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We design and install accessible bathrooms including walk-in showers with low or zero-threshold trays, grab rails, fold-down shower seats and raised toilet seats. We work sensitively and can advise on layouts that meet your specific needs.

Question 29

What tiles do you recommend for a bathroom?

Accepted Answer

Large-format porcelain tiles (600×600mm or 600×1200mm) are our most popular recommendation — they are durable, easy to clean and create a seamless, contemporary look. For shower enclosures and wet rooms we always use a fully waterproof adhesive and grout. We can source tiles through our trade accounts at competitive prices.

Question 30

Do you offer a guarantee on bathroom fitting work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All our bathroom installations are guaranteed. We are fully insured and hold a 9.96/10 rating from over 380 verified reviews. If any issue arises from our workmanship, we will return to put it right.

Question 31

How much does kitchen fitting cost?

Accepted Answer

The cost of fitting a new kitchen depends on its size, layout, the units and worktops selected, and the preparation required before installation. A straightforward replacement using the existing plumbing arrangements will usually involve less work than a complete refurbishment with a redesigned layout, new flooring and electrical alterations.

At IK Master Build Ltd, we provide a free home consultation to assess your kitchen and discuss your requirements. We then prepare a clear quotation with a fixed labour price for the agreed work. Materials are charged at cost with receipts, and any specialist services are explained before work begins. This helps you understand the installation costs and plan your kitchen refurbishment with confidence.

Question 32

Do you supply and fit kitchens?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can help you plan the supply and installation of a complete kitchen, or provide a fitting service for a kitchen you have already purchased. We work with kitchens from Howdens, Wren and other suitable suppliers, so you are not restricted to one particular manufacturer.

We hold a Howdens trade account and can discuss available trade pricing where applicable. You can choose your preferred cabinets, worktops, appliances and accessories while we advise on the practical installation requirements.

Our work can include removing the existing kitchen, preparing the room, fitting cabinetry and suitable worktops, installing sinks and plumbing, and completing associated tiling or flooring. Electrical alterations are carried out by our long-standing qualified electrical partner, while quartz and granite worktops are measured and installed by specialists. The exact services and purchasing arrangements are agreed before the project begins.

Question 33

How long does kitchen fitting take?

Accepted Answer

The time required for a kitchen installation depends on the size of the kitchen, its design and the amount of preparation involved. Replacing cabinets and worktops while keeping the existing layout is generally more straightforward than a complete refurbishment involving plumbing alterations, new electrics, wall preparation, tiling and flooring.

During our initial home consultation, we assess the room and review your kitchen plans to explain the expected stages of work. We also consider the delivery of kitchen units, appliances and specialist worktops, as these can affect the schedule.

We aim to organise the installation efficiently without rushing important preparation or finishing details. Before work starts, we discuss the anticipated timescale and keep you informed throughout the project.

Question 34

Do you fit Howdens kitchens?

Accepted Answer

Yes. IK Master Build Ltd has experience installing Howdens kitchens and holds a Howdens trade account. We can help you review your chosen kitchen design, check measurements and discuss practical installation requirements before fitting begins.

Our installation work can include base units, wall cabinets, tall units, appliance housings, plinths, panels, laminate or solid wood worktops, sinks and associated plumbing. We carefully align cabinets, check that doors and drawers operate correctly and pay attention to the finishing details.

Customers can also ask about available Howdens trade pricing, depending on the products and arrangements agreed. If you prefer a kitchen from Wren or another supplier, we can discuss fitting that instead. Our priority is providing a professional installation for the kitchen that suits your home and budget.

Question 35

Can you change the layout of my kitchen?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We can help you explore changes to your existing kitchen layout as part of a complete refurbishment. This might involve relocating cabinets, improving storage, changing the sink position, adjusting appliance arrangements or creating a more practical working space.

During our home consultation, we assess the room dimensions, existing plumbing, drainage, electrical points and any limitations that could affect the proposed design. We can then explain which changes are practical and what additional preparation might be required.

Plumbing alterations can be included within our agreed installation work, while electrical changes are handled by our qualified electrical partner. Any structural alterations or other specialist requirements would need separate assessment. Our aim is to create a kitchen layout that looks attractive and works comfortably for everyday use.
